معرفی
Andrew B Adams is a Professor of Surgery at the University of Minnesota Medical School, specializing in transplantation research. His work focuses on advancing transplantation science through innovative approaches to immunosuppression, organ preservation, and clinical outcomes assessment. With over 100 research outputs spanning two decades, Dr. Adams maintains an active research program with publications continuing through 2025.
Dr. Adams' research interests center on transplant immunology, particularly T cell biology and costimulation blockade. His work spans multiple organ systems including kidney and liver transplantation, with significant contributions to xenotransplantation research. He investigates novel approaches to immunosuppression, risk assessment in transplant recipients, and organ banking technologies. His fingerprint analysis reveals expertise in allograft (100%), T cell immunology (91%), costimulation blockade (81%), and nonhuman primate models (50%).
His recent publications demonstrate a focus on practical clinical applications, risk assessment frameworks, and emerging technologies in transplantation. The research shows a clear trajectory toward addressing the organ shortage crisis through xenotransplantation and improving outcomes for existing transplant recipients through better risk prediction and management strategies.
Dr. Adams serves as Principal Investigator on multiple significant research projects including BESTOW-EXTENSION (a kidney transplant study), OCS Liver Perfusion Registry, The Consortium for Holistic Assessment of Risk in Transplantation, and Advancing Transplantation Tolerance in Nonhuman Primates. He also contributes as a Co-Investigator on projects related to organ banking and kidney cryopreservation. These projects reflect his leadership in multi-center collaborative research across the transplantation field.
