Dr. Andres Bellofatto is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Economics at the University of Queensland, within the Faculty of Business, Economics and Law. He holds a Masters (Coursework) of Science and a PhD from Carnegie Mellon University. His research focuses on Macroeconomics, Public Finance, Contract Theory, and Macroeconomic Theory, with a particular emphasis on fiscal policy design, wealth taxation, and regional economic disparities. He has conducted extensive work on urban advantages, tax decentralization, and the impact of executive compensation on taxation.
Dr. Bellofatto has secured funding through the ARC Discovery Projects (2022–2025) for research on business taxation and UQ Early Career grants (2019) exploring fiscal policy and lifespans. He is available for PhD supervision, recently advising on topics like optimal taxation and Indian economic talent allocation.
