Andrei G. Fedorov is a Professor and Rae S. and Frank H. Neely Chair at the Georgia Institute of Technology's Woodruff School of Mechanical Engineering. He serves as Associate Chair for Graduate Studies and is a Regents’ Entrepreneur. His research spans Heat Transfer, Combustion, Energy Systems, Manufacturing, and Bioengineering. Fedorov holds a Ph.D. from Purdue University (1997) and advanced degrees from Moscow State University and Bauman MSTU (Russia).
His lab develops interdisciplinary technologies, including renewable fuels, nanomanufacturing, bioanalytical instrumentation, and thermal management. Notable awards include the Presidents’ Award for Team Science (2024), Regents’ Entrepreneur recognition (2022), and multiple fellowships. His work bridges engineering and basic sciences, emphasizing innovation in energy, materials, and biotechnology.
Students in his group engage in cutting-edge research across thermal/fluid sciences, applied mathematics, and bioengineering. Fedorov’s 60+ patents and 150+ publications highlight contributions to fields like microfluidics, catalytic reactors, and cell manufacturing monitoring.
