Andreea Vescan

Andreea Vescan serves as Associate Professor at Babes-Bolyai University's Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. With over 19 years of academic experience since approximately 2006, she actively contributes to both teaching and research in software engineering.

Her research focuses on software testing methodologies, soft computing applications for test case prioritization, and computer science education innovations. She leads the TESTUM Research Group which investigates intersections of Software Testing, Software Metrics, Artificial Intelligence, and Education. Notable projects include designing learning methods as principal investigator of an international research project and investigating soft computing methods for test case prioritization.

Vescan has extensive service in academic conferences, currently serving on program committees for ASE 2025 (Research Papers), ESEC/FSE 2026 (Software Engineering Education), ICSE 2026, and multiple other premier software engineering venues including ICSME, ISSTA, and SANER. Her conference contributions span artifact evaluation, tool demonstrations, and educational track leadership.

Teaching responsibilities cover programming, software testing, and computational models for embedded systems through industry collaborations since 2013. Her educational approach integrates experiential learning and storytelling methods for CI/CD and testing education, as evidenced by publications like 'Layered Learning: Teaching CI/CD and Software Testing through Storytelling'.
