Andreea Iorga is the H.C. Wang Assistant Professor of Mathematics at Cornell University, affiliated with the College of Arts and Sciences. She holds a Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of Chicago (2024). Her research focuses on algebraic number theory, particularly Galois theory and deformations of Galois representations. She teaches MATH 4310: Linear Algebra in both Spring and Fall 2025.
Her research explores intricate structures in algebraic number theory, with recent contributions to the classification of discriminant ideals and the study of Galois deformation rings. Her work bridges abstract algebraic concepts with arithmetic applications, advancing foundational questions in modern number theory.
Dr. Iorga is actively involved in graduate education and research mentorship, contributing to Cornell’s Mathematics Department’s commitment to advancing theoretical and applied mathematical inquiry.
