Dr. Andree-Anne Ledoux is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Cellular and Molecular Medicine at the University of Ottawa and a Scientist at the CHEO Research Institute (CHEORI). Her work focuses on developing evidence-based management protocols for pediatric concussion to reduce persistent symptoms and enhance recovery. She holds a PhD in Experimental Neuropsychology from the University of Ottawa (2013) and completed a post-doctoral fellowship in Pediatric Concussion at CHEORI (2019).
Her research explores age/sex differences in concussion outcomes, neurophysiological biomarkers, and behavioral interventions such as mindfulness-based therapies and early physical activity. Using MRI and longitudinal studies, she investigates how these interventions affect brain function and symptom resolution. Her multidisciplinary approach involves collaborations across neuroscience, pediatrics, and clinical psychology.
Recent publications emphasize the benefits of early return-to-school protocols and physical activity in symptom reduction, as well as the role of brain perfusion imaging in tracking recovery. Ongoing work examines resilience factors and white matter microstructure changes post-concussion.
