معرفی
Andreas Wolf is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Heidelberg and Emeritus Research Scientist at the Max Planck Institute for Nuclear Physics. His research centers on experimental quantum dynamics, atomic/molecular collisions, and astrophysical processes, using advanced techniques like cryogenic ion storage rings. He has significantly contributed to understanding dissociative recombination and electron-ion interactions relevant to interstellar chemistry.
Wolf's recent publications focus on anion-neutral collisions, rotational cooling of molecular ions, and precision measurements in electrostatic storage rings. His work bridges atomic physics and astrophysics, with implications for cosmic ray ionization and astrochemical models. He received the Dieter Möhl Medal from CERN in 2021 for his lifetime contributions.
He also studies the decay processes of metastable ions and develops instrumentation for low-energy collision physics, supporting experiments that simulate interstellar conditions.
