Andreas Witzig

Prof. Dr. Andreas Witzig is Professor and Director of the Institute of Computational Physics at ZHAW School of Engineering. His research focuses on building simulation, renewable energy systems, and thermal energy optimization. He leads projects in urban energy transition and building efficiency, and developed the Polysun simulation software for solar energy systems.

Professor Witzig's recent publications examine thermal storage optimization, energy-saving measures in commercial buildings, and educational applications of simulation software. He serves as president of the Association Building Simulation Switzerland and contributes to international research collaborations including IEA Task 53 on solar cooling and heating technologies.
