Andreas Spahn

Andreas Spahn (born 1974) is an Assistant Professor of Philosophy and Ethics at Eindhoven University of Technology. His academic journey includes studies in Philosophy, Communication Science, and German Literature at the University of Essen (Germany), a Master's degree in Philosophy and German Literature from the University of Notre-Dame (USA), and a Ph.D. from Bochum (Germany) in 2007, focusing on the Theory of Understanding.

His research spans meta-ethical questions about grounding value judgments and applied ethics in areas such as the societal impact of new media and ecological ethics. He contributes to projects like A Sustainable Ethics for Future Energy Systems, Developing and Implementing Smart Grids in India, and explorations of persuasive technology and social values.
