معرفی
Prof. Dr. Andreas Reiserer is a Research Group Leader at the Max Planck Institute of Quantum Optics in the Quantum Dynamics division. He leads the Otto Hahn Group on Quantum Networks, focusing on developing scalable quantum network technologies using solid-state platforms, particularly individual erbium dopants in optical resonators.
His research lies at the intersection of quantum optics, quantum information, and solid-state physics. He investigates novel quantum systems to overcome current limitations in quantum networking, aiming to enable long-distance entanglement distribution, secure quantum communication, and distributed quantum computing. His group's work builds on foundational experiments in cavity quantum electrodynamics and loophole-free Bell tests.
The recent publications highlight a strong trend toward solid-state quantum emitters with telecom compatibility, long coherence times, and integration with high-Q optical cavities. Key themes include quantum memory development, cavity-enhanced emission, and the engineering of quantum nodes for future quantum internet architectures.
- ERC Starting Grant
Prof. Reiserer's research is supported by major grants from the Max Planck Society, the European Research Council (ERC), the Cluster of Excellence MCQST, and funding agencies DFG and BMBF. While specific advisees are not listed, as a research group leader, he mentors PhD students and postdoctoral researchers in experimental quantum optics. His team operates within the Quantum Dynamics department, utilizing advanced cryogenic and photonic instrumentation.
The Quantum Networks group is developing next-generation quantum technologies based on erbium-doped systems in high-quality optical resonators, aiming to create efficient quantum light-matter interfaces for scalable quantum networks.
