Andreas Peter

Andreas Peter holds the position of Full Professor at the research group 'Safety-Security-Interaction' at the University of Oldenburg, Germany. Since 2022, he also serves as Guest Professor at the University of Twente's EEMCS Faculty (Netherlands), specifically at the 'Services and Cyber-Security (SCS)' chair. His academic journey includes roles as Assistant Professor (2014-2018), Associate Professor (2019-2020), and Adjunct Professor (2021-2022) at the University of Twente.

Education: M.Sc. in Mathematics from University of Cambridge (UK) and University of Oldenburg (2008/2009); Ph.D. in Computer Science from Technical University of Darmstadt (2013), focusing on secure computation outsourcing and homomorphic encryption.

Research interests span privacy-preserving technologies, cryptographic protocol design, network intrusion detection, and applications of machine learning in security contexts. He actively contributes to academic governance, serving on editorial boards (e.g., EURASIP Journal on Information Security since 2015) and program committees for security conferences.

Prior to his current roles, he coordinated the EIT Digital Master in Security & Privacy and the 4TU Cyber Security Master Specialization at the University of Twente until 2022.
