Professor Andreas Paul Fröba serves as Head of the Institute of Advanced Optical Technologies - Thermophysical Properties within the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at Friedrich Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg (FAU). His research focuses on thermophysical properties of various fluid systems using advanced optical measurement techniques.
Prof. Fröba's primary research interests include thermophysical properties of nanofluids, diffusion coefficients in liquid mixtures, thermal conductivity measurements, and transport phenomena in complex fluid systems. His work particularly emphasizes dynamic light scattering and surface light scattering techniques for characterizing fluid properties across wide temperature ranges. He has made significant contributions to understanding nanofluid behavior, liquid organic hydrogen carriers, and ionic liquids.
