Prof. Dr. Andreas Ohme is the Chair holder of Slavic Literature at the University of Greifswald since April 2018. He has held academic positions at the University of Leipzig and Friedrich Schiller University Jena, including roles as postdoctoral research associate, interim professor, and lecturer. His research focuses on Slavic literature, narrative theory, and genre innovation in contemporary Russian novels.

Education: He earned his doctorate from the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at Friedrich Schiller University Jena (1999) and completed his habilitation there in 2012. His master's degree in Slavic Studies, Modern German Literary History, and German Linguistics was obtained at Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg (1984–1990).
Research and Career: His academic career includes participation in DFG-funded projects such as 'Utopia in the Post-Utopian Age: Social Criticism and Genre Innovation in the Contemporary Russian Novel' and long-term affiliation with Friedrich Schiller University Jena (1994–2008) as research assistant. He has also taught at Charles University in Prague and collaborated with the Czech Academy of Sciences. His work bridges literary theory, Slavic studies, and Czech literature.
