معرفی
Andreas Nord is an Associate Professor and Researcher at Lund University's Department of Biology, with affiliations at the University of Glasgow's Institute for Biodiversity, Animal Health and Comparative Medicine. His work bridges ecological and evolutionary physiology, focusing on animal adaptation to climate change and land use alterations.
- Studied ecology and animal physiology at Lund University and University of Auckland (2002-2007)
- PhD in 2012 and postdoctoral work at Lund, University of Glasgow (2013, 2018-2019), and University of Tromsø (2014-2017)
Research explores physiological responses to environmental stressors across multiple scales: from field ecology of Scandinavian and Arctic birds to mitochondrial function under thermal stress. Key themes include transgenerational temperature effects, heat wave impacts on avian parental care, and cellular thermoregulatory mechanisms.
His recent projects include HotLife (Horizon Europe-funded survival pathways in warming climates) and HotBee (pollinator adaptation to climate change). As head teacher for Field Faunistics and manager of Sweden's 'Ask a Biologist' outreach blog, he combines research with education and public engagement in physiology and biodiversity studies.
