معرفی
Andreas Møllerløkken is the Head of the Department of Biotechnology and Food Science at NTNU (since 2021). He holds a PhD in Medical Technology (2008), a PPU (2002), and a Cand Scient Biology degree (2001), all from NTNU. His research focuses on barophysiology, cardiovascular physiology, and hyperbaric medicine, particularly decompression sickness mechanisms. He has led studies on dive computer validation, biomarker development, and ultrasound-based bubble detection. As Senior Adviser at the Faculty of Engineering (2018-2021), he contributed to international research collaboration strategies.
Key research areas include physiological responses to hyperbaric/hypobaric environments, vascular endothelium damage from gas embolism, and long-term health effects of diving. His work bridges clinical practice, animal models, and technological innovation in diving safety. Recent articles analyze bubble dynamics in cetaceans and human divers, advancing understanding of decompression pathology.
- Grants & Collaborations: NATO High Altitude Research, EU-funded projects on dive computer design.
- Labs/Teams: Collaborates with ISB (NTNU Institute of Marine Research), FMI (Norwegian Armed Forces), and international partners like the University of Split (Croatia).
