Andreas Lymberatos is an Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science and History at Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences. His academic work centers on the Modern Social and Economic History of the Balkans from the 19th century through World War I, with particular emphasis on nationalist movements, Ottoman legacies, and cultural transformations in Southeastern Europe.
His research explores:
- The interplay between economic change and national identity formation
- Transnational cultural transfers across Balkan societies
- Comparative analyses of post-Ottoman state-building processes
- Historical interpretations of revolutions and social mobilization
Professor Lymberatos teaches core courses including Modern Balkan History, Nations and Nationalism, and the graduate seminar Global Transformations and the Balkans. He maintains an active research profile with recent books examining Balkan perceptions of the Greek Revolution and historical methodologies in regional studies.
