Dr. Andreas Karapatakis is a Lecturer in Law at the School of Law and Social Justice, University of Liverpool (part of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences). He holds a PhD (2024), LLM (Distinction, 2017), and LLB from Queen Mary University of London and the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, respectively. His research focuses on financial crime, digital economy regulation, and banking law, particularly AML strategies in blockchain and virtual currencies. He advises the UKAEL online Law Blog and has contributed to EU-funded projects. Awards include the Robert Schuman Scholarship for his European Parliament traineeship.
