Andreas Gernert is an Assistant Professor for Sustainable Operations at Kühne Logistics University (KLU) in Hamburg, Germany. Previously, he held post-doctoral positions at INSEAD (2020-2021) and research assistant roles at EBS University (2015-2019). He holds a PhD in Supply Chain Management from EBS University (2016-2019) and a Master of Science in Mathematics from Ulm University (2011-2013).
- Research Focus: Integrates Game Theory, Optimization, and Statistics to analyze sustainability challenges across supply chains, with emphasis on:
- Equity in health/humanitarian logistics (Syrian/Rohingya refugee crises)
- Business model innovation for ambulance systems in LMICs
- Supplier competition dynamics with financially distressed suppliers
- Child labor reduction in agricultural supply chains
Teaching: Specializes in Operations Management and Sustainable Supply Chain Management, employing interactive case studies and educational simulations like the "Fish and Ships" game.
