Andreas Elpidorou is a Professor of Philosophy and Director of the Liberal Studies Program at the University of Louisville. His research centers on the philosophical study of emotions, particularly boredom, and its intersections with cognitive science, phenomenology, and moral psychology. He has authored two major books: Propelled: How Boredom, Frustration, and Anticipation Lead us to the Good Life (OUP, 2020) and The Anatomy of Boredom (OUP, 2025), the latter advancing a functional theory of boredom as a cognitive regulator.
