Andrea Zappatore

Dr. Andrea Zappatore is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Energy at Polytechnic University of Turin, specializing in nuclear engineering and fusion technology. His research focuses on superconducting magnet systems for tokamak reactors, including thermal-hydraulic analysis and quench propagation modeling.

Prof. Zappatore works on experimental characterization of superconducting conductors for fusion applications, particularly for ITER and DEMO reactors. His group develops advanced computational models for electromagnetic and thermo-mechanical behavior of fusion magnet systems.

He contributes to the Divertor Tokamak Test (DTT) facility design and collaborates on international projects including ITER central solenoid testing. Prof. Zappatore supervises graduate research in fusion engineering applications.
