Dr. Andrea Waling is a Senior Research Fellow in Social Care at Lancaster University’s Faculty of Health and Medicine, cross-appointed with the Division of Health Research and Sociology, and the NIHR-supported Research Support Service. Her work focuses on improving social care for young people and children, alongside research interests in sexual health, technology’s role in sexual practices, and LGBTIQA+ health equity. She leads initiatives to enhance research impact and grant development, particularly for NIHR and Wellcome Trust proposals. Dr. Waling holds a PhD in Sociology from Monash University (2015) and has extensive experience in multidisciplinary research, policy engagement, and community partnerships.

- Sexual communication and consent among young heterosexual men
- LGBTIQA+ mental health, aging, and crisis support
- Gender and technology in intimate relationships
