Andrea Valerio Maccio is an Associate Professor and Program Head of Physics at New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD), affiliated with NYU's Faculty of Arts and Science. He holds a Master of Physics from the University of Milano and a PhD in Astrophysics from the University of Milano-Bicocca.

His research focuses on the formation and evolution of galaxies in a dark universe, utilizing large-scale numerical simulations to study dark energy, dark matter halos, and their role in cosmic structure formation. Professor Maccio has taught courses such as Astronomy & Cosmology, Quantum Mechanics, and Capstone Research Projects in Physics. His work bridges theoretical astrophysics with computational methods to explore the universe's 95% dark energy and dark matter composition.
