Andrea Stocco

Andrea Stocco serves as an Adjunct Professor at the Paul G. Allen School of Computer Science & Engineering at the University of Washington, with his primary academic appointment in the Department of Psychology. His interdisciplinary work bridges computer science and neuroscience, focusing on computational approaches to understanding brain function and developing neurotechnologies.

Dr. Stocco's research expertise spans Computational Neuroscience, Neuroengineering, and Cognitive Neuroscience. His scholarly contributions include authoring the textbook Models in Neuroscience, which has become a significant resource in the field for understanding computational approaches to neural systems. His work emphasizes the integration of computational modeling with empirical neuroscience to advance our understanding of cognitive processes.

Together with Chantel Prat, Dr. Stocco co-directs the Cognition and Cortical Dynamics Laboratory at the University of Washington.
