Andrea Sangiovanni is Professor of Philosophy at King's College London, where he serves as Head of the Philosophy Department. He holds a BA and PhD from Harvard University and previously held positions at the European University Institute and University of Cambridge. Sangiovanni leads an ERC-funded project on solidarity in Europe and is the author of multiple books including 'Humanity without Dignity' and 'Solidarity: Nature, Grounds, and Value'.
His research examines:

- Human rights justification and moral equality
- Global justice frameworks
- Conceptual approaches to discrimination and equality
Sangiovanni teaches political philosophy courses including theories of justice and advanced topics in moral philosophy. His publications demonstrate consistent focus on solidarity mechanisms across European contexts, ethical dimensions of refugee policies, and critical analyses of social inequality. He has received the Randall Dillard Research Fellowship and directs the Ethics Cup KCL Regional competition for secondary students.
