Dr. Andrea Purdekova is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Bath's Politics, Languages & International Studies School, affiliated with the Centre for Development Studies and Centre for Qualitative Research. She holds a DPhil in International Development from the University of Oxford, where her doctoral work examined Rwanda's post-genocide unity-building efforts.

Her research explores how states recover from mass violence through studies on reconciliation narratives, camp politics, and memory regimes. Current Leverhulme-funded project examines forgetting mechanisms in East Africa.
Published in journals like International Journal of Transitional Justice and Journal of Refugee Studies, she also co-edited a special issue on pandemic-era qualitative research in conflict zones.
