معرفی
Andrea Pugliese is a Full Professor in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Trento, Italy. He is also affiliated with the Center Agriculture Food Environment (C3A). His teaching responsibilities include courses such as Calculus 1 (taught in the Department of Information Engineering and Computer Science) and Mathematical Modeling in Biology (co-taught at the Department of Cellular, Computational and Integrative Biology - CIBIO). His research focuses on mathematical biology, epidemiology, and dynamical systems, with particular emphasis on modeling infectious diseases like West Nile virus and influenza. He has extensively studied vector-borne disease transmission, spatial-temporal dynamics, and stochastic modeling in biological systems.
Key research interests include: Biostatistics, Dynamical systems, Mathematical ecology, and the application of ordinary differential equations (ODE) and reaction-diffusion models. His work integrates ecological, epidemiological, and immunological perspectives to understand disease spread patterns and control strategies. Recent studies have analyzed the impact of climatic factors on mosquito populations and virus transmission risks in Europe.
His publications span over two decades, addressing topics such as SIR/SIRS epidemic models, cost-effectiveness of vaccines, and mathematical frameworks for prostate cancer immunotherapy. He collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to translate theoretical models into practical public health policies and ecological management strategies.
