معرفی
Andrea Gruber is an Adjunct Professor at the Department of Thermal Engineering, Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), Faculty of Engineering. Her primary research focuses on high-resolution numerical modeling of turbulent and reactive flows using Direct Numerical Simulation (DNS), with an emphasis on hydrogen and ammonia combustion. She has led multiple projects, including BIGH2/Phase III (2018–2021), NCCS/Task 5 (2017–2024), and DiHI-Tech (2018–2021), addressing hydrogen/ammonia-fired gas turbine combustors and combustion system fundamentals. Her work spans combustion optimization, emissions reduction, and autoignition dynamics in reheat systems.
Research interests include flame stabilization, combustion instabilities, and low-emission strategies for carbon-free fuels. Recent projects investigate rich-quench-lean staging for ammonia combustion and hydrogen reheat flames in gas turbines. Her contributions to DNS and computational models have advanced understanding of turbulent reactive flows and combustion dynamics at extreme conditions.
Key publications from 2023–2025 explore ammonia/hydrogen flame chemistry, emission quantification (NO, N2O), and combustion system design for offshore and industrial applications. Gruber’s work bridges fundamental combustion science with engineering solutions for sustainable energy systems.
