Andrea Gagliardo is a Contract Teacher in the Department of Biomedicine, Neuroscience and Advanced Diagnostics at the University of Palermo's School of Medicine and Surgery. With active research and clinical work in neurology, Dr. Gagliardo contributes to both teaching and scholarly activities at the institution.
Dr. Gagliardo's research interests span multiple areas of neurology and neuroscience, with particular focus on:
- Migraine and headache disorders, especially their relationship with sleep patterns
- Neuromuscular diseases including myasthenia gravis and amyloidosis
- Neurorehabilitation, particularly gait analysis and mobility issues
- Fibromyalgia and sensory processing disorders
- The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on patients with neurological conditions
Recent publications demonstrate a strong trend toward interdisciplinary research connecting neurology with sleep medicine, pain management, and rehabilitation. The work often bridges clinical practice with academic investigation, featuring case studies, clinical analyses, and literature reviews that address both diagnostic and therapeutic aspects of neurological conditions. Much of the research appears to be conducted in the Sicilian context, with specific attention to regional patient populations.
Dr. Gagliardo has published numerous peer-reviewed articles from 2021-2024 covering diverse neurological topics including migraine treatment, cluster headache, fibromyalgia mechanisms, neuromuscular disorders, and the neurological impacts of the pandemic.
