معرفی
Andrea Fiore is a Full Professor in the Department of Applied Physics at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). He is also a co-founder and Management Team member of the Eindhoven Hendrik Casimir Institute. His expertise spans nanophotonics, optical sensing, and quantum photonics, with a focus on nanoscale light sources, detectors, nanolasers, and integrated optical sensors. Recently, his research group has emphasized integrated nano-opto-electro-mechanical systems (NOEMS) for sensing and improving nanolasers through light-matter interaction control.
Fiore holds a PhD in Optics from the University of Orsay and has held positions at institutions such as Thales Research and Technology (France), UC Santa Barbara (USA), the Italian National Research Council (Italy), and EPFL (Switzerland). He has received notable awards, including the 'Professeur boursier' (Switzerland), 'Vici' (Netherlands) grants, and the 2006 ISCS Young Scientist Award.
His research interests include developing advanced sensors and quantum technologies, with applications in environmental monitoring and biomedical sensing. Fiore leads a 20M€ NWO Gravitation program on Integrated Nanophotonics and has co-founded spin-offs like nanoPHAB and MantiSpectra to commercialize his group's innovations.
Key contributions include integrated spectrometers, optomechanical sensors, and NOEMS-based devices. His work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to climate action and industrial innovation.
