Andrea Chegai

Andrea Chegai is a Full Professor in the Department of Modern Literature and Culture at Sapienza University of Rome, where he has taught since 2012 and was promoted to Full Professor in 2019. Previously, he served as an associate professor at the University of Siena from 2004 to 2012 following research positions there from 1998.

His academic foundation includes diplomas in piano and harpsichord, a Literature and Philosophy degree from the University of Florence (1990), and a doctorate in History of Performance (1995). He began his career as a visiting professor at Florence during 1995-1996.

Professor Chegai's research centers on music historiography with specialized focus on opera, polyphony, and instrumental music across centuries.
