Andrea Bucci is an Assistant Professor in Econometrics at the University of Macerata (Department of Economics and Law). He holds a doctoral degree in Economics from the Marche Polytechnic University (2017). Previously, he was an Assistant Professor at the University of Chieti-Pescara (2020–2022) and a Research Fellow in Econometrics and Medical Statistics. His research interests lie at the intersection of econometrics, data science, finance, health economics, and computational statistics, with a focus on nonlinear time series modeling and R software applications. He has published two R packages for nonlinear time series analysis.
His work spans topics such as realized volatility forecasting, health policy analysis, spatiotemporal patterns of diseases, and machine learning applications in epidemiology. Recent studies include evaluating PM10’s nonlinear effects on emergency visits, analyzing hospital length-of-stay trends in European healthcare systems, and developing matrix-variate autoregressive models. He also explores AI-based tools like ChatGPT for epidemiological research, adhering to the STROBE checklist.
Bucci’s articles often blend statistical methods with real-world applications, addressing both financial markets and public health challenges. His teaching includes courses on econometrics for finance, spatial-temporal data analysis, and impact evaluation. His expertise extends to statistical software development and environmental data analysis, reflecting a multidisciplinary approach.
