Prof. Dr. Andrea Allerkamp holds the W3 Professorship for Western European Literatures at the European University Viadrina Frankfurt (Oder) since 2011. She served as spokesperson for the DFG Research Training Group 'Life Forms + Life Knowledge' (2011–2015) and co-edits the international publication series Rhetoric: An International Yearbook. Her research emphasizes the interplay of rhetoric, aesthetics, and cultural theory, focusing on dismantling traditional literary canons and exploring interdisciplinary intersections between philosophy, law, and literature.

Her academic career spans 22 years teaching at French institutions, including Université Aix-Marseille and Université de Toulouse II. She earned her HDR at Université de Sorbonne-IV (2004), habilitation at Humboldt University Berlin (2002), and doctorate from University of Hamburg (1990). Recent accolades include fellowships at the University of Cologne's International College Morphomata and Université Paris I-Sorbonne.
Current research projects include CURE (Cultural Practices of Reparation) and contributions to Kleist Yearbook and Handbook of Literature & Philosophy. She actively engages in transnational collaborations through the Franco-German double Master's program in Philosophy and Cultural Studies and serves on the Kleist Museum's academic advisory board.
