Andrea Alimonti

Prof. Andrea Alimonti is a Full Professor at the Università della Svizzera italiana and ETH Zurich, serving as Director of the Institute of Oncology Research (IOR) and head of the Molecular Oncology Group. He holds an MD from the University of Rome 'La Sapienza', with postdoctoral training at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and Harvard Medical School. His research focuses on cellular senescence, cancer immunotherapy, prostate cancer progression, and microbiota-driven therapy resistance. Key achievements include discovering senescence-based therapeutic approaches and identifying myeloid-derived suppressor cells' role in cancer.
