Andra Gillespie

Andra Gillespie is an Associate Professor of Political Science and Director of the James Weldon Johnson Institute for the Study of Race and Difference at Emory University. She specializes in African American politics, political leadership, and race and elections. Gillespie holds a B.A. from the University of Virginia and a Ph.D. from Yale University. Her research focuses on the political strategies and governance of post-1960 Black leaders, emphasizing generational shifts in racial representation and electoral dynamics.
