Anders Uhlin is a Professor at the Department of Political Science, Lund University, with expertise in civil society, transnational activism, global governance, and democratization. He has led major research projects on legitimation/delegitimation of international organizations and civil society elites in Indonesia, Cambodia, and Europe, including co-editing Legitimation and Delegitimization in Global Governance (Oxford University Press, 2022).
His recent work focuses on European civil society elites (2020-2024), analyzing capital dynamics and institutional advancement in the European Economic and Social Committee. Key research themes include transnational boundary crossing, elite integration, and legitimacy struggles in global institutions like UNESCO, the World Bank, and ASEAN.
Uhlin has received the Excellent Teaching Practitioner (ETP) award in 2011 and supervises across development studies, international politics, and democratization. His scholarship intersects with UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly through civil society's role in global justice and governance.
