معرفی
Anders Persson serves as a Senior Lecturer in Textile Materials Technology at the Department of Textile Technology, Faculty of Textiles, Engineering and Business, University of Borås. He has been a faculty member at the university since 2011, contributing significantly to both research and education in sustainable textile technologies.
Dr. Persson completed his doctoral studies in polymer materials at Chalmers University of Technology in 1997. His early career focused on research and development of degradable polymer-based implants for orthopedic applications before transitioning to textile technology research.
His primary research interests include resource-efficient textile recycling, mechanical recycling processes, sustainable fiber production, and polymer applications in textiles. Dr. Persson's work investigates how to mitigate fiber length loss during mechanical recycling through innovative pre-treatment methods, contributing to the development of circular economy solutions for the textile industry.
His publication record shows a clear evolution from polymer science (1990s) to specialized textile recycling research (2014-present), with recent publications focusing on abrasive pre-treatments, spinnability of recycled fibers, and regenerated cellulose technologies. These works collectively advance knowledge in sustainable textile production and waste management.
- Currently active in research projects: Textile back to textile
- Testbed Textile Recycling
- Erasmus+ project Atom (focused on international student recruitment)
As an educator, Dr. Persson contributes to the master's program in textile technology and serves as co-supervisor for doctoral students, including Katarina Lindström Ramamoorthy. His research bridges academic inquiry with practical industry applications, addressing critical sustainability challenges in textile production and waste management.
