معرفی
Anders P. Tøttrup is a Research Professor and Deputy Museum Director at The Natural History Museum of Denmark, University of Copenhagen. He holds the position of Associate Professor in the Department of Biology within the Faculty of Science. His work bridges academic research with museum leadership, focusing on ornithology, conservation, and citizen science initiatives.
Education:
- PhD in Migration Ecology, University of Copenhagen, Denmark (2009)
- MSc in Population Ecology, University of Copenhagen, Denmark (2004)
Dr. Tøttrup's research focuses on studying migratory birds throughout their annual cycle, with particular interest in how global climate change and nature management strategies affect avian populations. His work examines long-term changes at spatiotemporal scales, including phenology, mortality patterns, and species interactions. He has extensive field experience across multiple continents including Africa, North America, and Europe, with specialized expertise in bird identification, surveys, and tracking technologies.
His recent publications demonstrate a strong focus on migratory bird ecology, climate change impacts, and citizen science applications. The research spans from detailed tracking studies of individual species to continent-wide analyses of breeding productivity and migration patterns. His work often combines cutting-edge tracking technology with ecological modeling to understand complex migration phenomena.
Scientific Recognition:
- 49 peer-reviewed scientific papers
- H-index of 21 with 1,350 citations in Web of Science
- Regular symposium convener at major ornithological conferences
- Reviewer for top journals in General Biology, Ecology, and Ornithology
Dr. Tøttrup actively supervises students, mentoring approximately 4 MSc and 3 BSc students annually. He has secured significant research funding including Carlsberg and Villum Fonden postdoctoral grants, and major project grants from the Aage V. Jensen Foundation for the Golden Eagle Project and Citizen Science initiatives. He serves as Chairman of the scientific committee of BirdLife Denmark and has extensive experience in science communication through popular articles and media appearances.
His organizational work includes directing education at the Natural History Museum and leveraging citizen science to enhance conservation efforts. He has developed innovative approaches for tracking and studying migratory birds, with applications for biodiversity conservation across multiple ecosystems.
