Anders Melander is an Associate Professor of Business Administration at Jönköping International Business School (JIBS), part of Jönköping University. He is affiliated with the Media, Management and Transformation Centre (MMTC) and the Centre for Family Entrepreneurship and Ownership (CeFEO). Holding a PhD in Business Administration from JIBS (1997), his research focuses on strategy processes, particularly in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and the role of formalized strategy work such as Hoshin Kanri. His work explores how inclusive and transparent strategy practices can drive organizational development.
Key research themes include the evolution of strategy processes in organizations, management innovation, and psychological ownership of strategic frameworks. Notable projects include studies on Hoshin Kanri implementation in SMEs and historical analyses of strategic behavior in industries like pulp and paper. He has managed national business development programs (2000–2006), led JIBS business development (2007), and directed research projects addressing SME challenges since 2008.
