Anders Kvanta

Anders Kvanta is a Professor at Karolinska Institutet and Senior Physician at St. Erik's Eye Hospital, leading translational research on retinal diseases. He specializes in developing therapies for age-related and inherited retinal degenerations, including gene and stem cell therapies. His work focuses on restoring vision through clinical trials, such as the first-in-human gene therapy for Bothnia dystrophy and embryonic stem cell-derived retinal cell transplants for macular degeneration.

Education: Medical Degree (1991) and Docent (2003) from Karolinska Institutet. Research Group: Retina – Anders Kvanta's research group, with eleven researchers.
