Anders Björklund is a Professor and Section Chief at the Wallenberg Neuroscience Center, Lund University. He has held positions since 1969, including Professor of Histology (1983–present) and Professor of Neurology (1996–present). His work focuses on neuroanatomy, neuronal regeneration, and cell transplantation in Parkinson's disease.

His research on neural grafting, gene therapy, and dopamine neuron systems has led to breakthroughs in Parkinson's disease treatment. Publications include studies on L-DOPA-induced dyskinesia and α-synuclein models.
Notable scientific awards include the Charles A. Dana Award (1992), Wendell JS Krieg Lifetime Achievement Award (2006), and Robert A Pritzker Prize (2011). He is a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences and Academia Europaea.
Collaborations with researchers like Olle Lindvall and Deniz Kirik have advanced understanding of neurotransplantation and gene transfer in neurodegenerative disorders.
