Ancuța Balla

Dr. Ancuța Balla serves as a Recognized Researcher (R2) - Scientific Researcher III at the National Institute for Research and Development of Isotopic and Molecular Technologies (INCDTIM) in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. She is affiliated with the Isotopic and Molecular Technologies Department and the Isotope Separation and Labeled Compounds Research Group, where she maintains an active research program focused on stable isotope production and applications.

Her educational background includes an MSc in Applied Electrochemistry (2008) and a PhD in Chemistry (2015), both from Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca. Her research expertise spans isotope separation technologies, catalysis, and synthesis of labeled compounds with applications in nuclear technology and medical fields.

Dr. Balla has served as Key Expert in multiple national and international research projects from 2006-2022, with particular focus on optimizing 15N, 13C, and 18O isotope separation processes. Her work includes contributions to the ASGARD EU project on Generation IV nuclear reactor fuels and several national projects under Romania's PNCDI framework. Her research demonstrates strong interdisciplinary connections between chemistry, nuclear technology, and industrial applications.

As part of the Isotope Separation and Labeled Compounds Research Group, she contributes to INCDTIM's mission of advancing isotopic technologies through experimental research and process optimization. Her work supports both fundamental scientific understanding and practical applications of stable isotopes in nuclear fuel development, medical diagnostics, and agricultural research.
