Anca Cretu

Anca Cretu is a pre-doctoral researcher at the Hegoa Institute, affiliated with the University of the Basque Country. She holds a Bachelor's in International Relations from Rey Juan Carlos University and a Master’s in Globalization and Development from the University of the Basque Country. Her research focuses on the role of universities in peacebuilding processes in post-conflict regions, particularly Colombia, Northern Ireland, and Lebanon. She specializes in analyzing European Union foreign policy and its relations with third countries, with a particular emphasis on human rights and migration issues.

Her academic background combines international relations theory with practical insights into conflict resolution and development studies. She is actively involved in interdisciplinary research at Hegoa, contributing to projects that bridge academic analysis with real-world policy implications.
