Anastasios Stathis

Anastasios Stathis is an Adjunct Professor at the Faculty of Biomedical Sciences of the Università della Svizzera italiana (USI). He serves as a staff medical oncologist, Head of the New Drugs Development Unit, and Chair of Clinical Research at the Oncology Institute of Southern Switzerland (IOSI). His work focuses on clinical cancer research, particularly new anti-cancer drug development and phase I trials in lymphomas.

Dr. Stathis holds medical degrees from the University of Pavia (Italy) and a specialty in medical oncology from the University of Insubria and IOSI. He completed a clinical research fellowship at Princess Margaret Hospital, University of Toronto, Canada. He is a Principal Investigator for multiple clinical trials and actively contributes to oncology societies including ESMO, ASCO, and AACR.

He serves as Vice-President of the New Anticancer Treatment Project Group (SAKK) and as Section Editor for Clinical Research in Critical Reviews in Oncology Hematology. His publications appear in top journals like Annals of Oncology, Nature Reviews Clinical Oncology, and Cancer Discovery.
