Anandi Hattiangadi is a Professor of Philosophy at Stockholm University and a researcher at the Institute for Futures Studies. She holds research fellowships at the Institute of Philosophy, University of London, and is affiliated with the Saul Kripke Center (CUNY Graduate Center) and the Centre for Cultural Evolution (Stockholm University). Her academic journey includes a PhD from Cambridge (2002), postdoctoral work at Trinity College, Cambridge (2001), a CUF Lectureship at the University of Oxford (2005–2013), and a Professorship at Stockholm University since 2013.
Her research spans philosophy of mind, language, and logic, with a focus on semantic normativity, rule-following, and the mind-body problem. She critiques truth norms for belief, defends non-supervenience of moral properties, and explores the intersection of philosophy and Artificial Intelligence through projects like the London AI and Humanity Project and the AI and Humanity Lab at Hong Kong University. Her forthcoming monograph Aboutness First: A Defence of the Fundamentality of Intentionality argues for the sui generis nature of semantic facts.
Key awards include the Pro Futura Scientia Fellowship (2013) and a postdoctoral fellowship at Trinity College, Cambridge (2001). Her work bridges analytic philosophy with contemporary technological challenges, emphasizing the social implications of epistemic polarization and post-truth culture.
