Anahí Viladrich is a full professor at the City University of New York (CUNY), holding appointments across multiple institutions within the university system. She serves as Professor in the Department of Sociology at Queens College, Professor in the Department of Sociology at the CUNY Graduate Center, and Professor in the Department of Community Health and Social Sciences at the CUNY Graduate School of Public Health and Health Policy.
Dr. Viladrich is a sociologist and medical anthropologist originally from Argentina. Her educational background includes a PhD in Sociomedical Sciences from Columbia University (2003), which was awarded with Distinction and the Marisa de Castro Benton Prize.

Her research focuses on the intersection of immigration, culture, gender, and health. Specific areas of interest include Latinas' Food Culture and Body Image, Botanicas and Folk Healing, Medical Tourism, and Argentine and Tango Studies. Dr. Viladrich approaches her work from both sociological and anthropological perspectives, creating a rich interdisciplinary framework for understanding health and cultural practices among immigrant populations.
Dr. Viladrich has received several notable recognitions for her scholarly work. Her book "More Than Two to Tango: Argentine Tango Immigrants in New York City" (The University of Arizona Press, 2013) was awarded the 2012-14 Honorable Mention by the Association of Latina and Latino Anthropologists of the American Anthropological Association.

In addition to her research and teaching, Dr. Viladrich serves as Academic Director of the Faculty Fellowship Publication Program (FFPP), a university-wide initiative aimed at supporting junior faculty in their paths to tenure. She has contributed to discussions on academic promotion processes and adapting teaching methods during extraordinary circumstances, including her article "Online teaching: Extraordinary times mean taking extraordinary measures" published in eCampus News.
