Ana Paula Palacios

Dr. Ana Paula Palacios is a Senior Lecturer in Statistics at the University of Greenwich, affiliated with the School of Computing and Mathematical Sciences within the Faculty of Engineering and Science. She holds a PhD in Statistics (cum laude) from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (2012). Her research focuses on statistical and machine learning methodologies, including stochastic processes and Bayesian methods, applied across biology, linguistics, criminology, and industrial projects. She co-founded the Science Practice Hub to promote interdisciplinary data science collaboration and regularly organizes quantitative methods workshops.

Teaching excellence is central to her career: she is a HEA Fellow with extensive experience at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and has been nominated multiple times for teaching awards. In 2023, she became Academic Liaison between Greenwich and the Turing University Network, bridging academic and industry data science initiatives.
