Ana Navarro Serra

Ana Navarro Serra is an Associate Professor at CEU-Cardenal Herrera University, affiliated with the Department of Animal Production and Health, Veterinary Public Health, and Food Science and Technology (PASAPTA). She combines her academic role with extensive clinical experience in small companion animals, NAC (Non-Traditional Animals), and wild animals in Africa.

• Education: Degree and PhD in Veterinary Medicine from CEU-Cardenal Herrera University.
• Professional Roles: Technical veterinary director, head of veterinary centers in the Valencian Community, and collaborator with African primate sanctuaries.

Her research focuses on veterinary parasitology, animal welfare, and wildlife conservation. She has contributed to the development of action protocols for primate sanctuaries and played a key role in the GFAS accreditation of the Vervet Monkey Foundation. She has also been involved in chimpanzee reintroduction programs in the Conkouati-Douli National Park.

  • Design of vervet monkey colony facilities at LWIRO sanctuary.
  • Co-author of the manual of good animal welfare practices for veterinary clinics in Valencia.

She actively teaches theoretical and practical courses on primates and participates in national and international conferences.
