Ana María Gutierrez Blanco is a postdoctoral researcher affiliated with the Institute of Advanced Materials (INAM) at Universitat Jaume I, Spain. She is a member of the Margarita Salas Research Group (RG5) and has collaborated with institutions like WWU Münster.
- Education: B.Sc. in Chemistry (2016, Universitat Jaume I), M.Sc. in Synthesis, Catalysis and Molecular Design (2017, Universitat Rovira i Virgili).
Her research focuses on the design and application of N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) ligands for catalysts and advanced materials. Key areas include electrocatalytic biomass valorization, redox-switchable reactions, and the synthesis of metal-organic assemblies with tunable photophysical properties.
Her recent publications (2018-2025) span topics from NHC-based gold/iridium complexes to BiVO4 nanoparticles for solar water splitting. These works reflect interdisciplinary expertise in organic-inorganic hybrid materials, sustainable chemistry, and computational/experimental catalysis.
She utilizes infrastructure at INAM and IDIFEDER-INAM, focusing on energy-related materials and chemical synthesis methodologies.
