Ana Maria Cunha Ribeiro dos Santos Ponces Camanho

Ana Maria Camanho is a Full Professor in the Department of Industrial Engineering and Management at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Porto. She currently serves as Vice-Rector for Digital Transformation and Information Management at the University of Porto since June 22, 2022. Her academic work focuses on Operational Research and Data Science, with a strong emphasis on efficiency and productivity analysis using advanced techniques.

Her research spans Operational Research and Data Science, applying these methodologies to evaluate efficiency and productivity trends in sectors like education, health, banking, artisanal fishing, transportation, corporate social responsibility, retail, construction, mining, and sustainable development. She has coordinated the Data Science area of the MIT-Portugal Program since 2022 and was actively involved in leadership roles at FEUP, including Pro-Director and Director of academic programs.

Scientific Awards and Recognition:

• Pedagogical Excellence Award (2021)
• Elected to the Portuguese Academy of Engineering (2024)

She has supervised 51 Master's theses and 13 completed doctoral theses, contributing significantly to postgraduate education in Industrial Engineering and Management. As an Associate Editor for journals like the Journal of Productivity Analysis and Sustainability Analytics and Modeling, she plays a key role in advancing research. She is an Integrated Member of INESC TEC and the Institute of Systems and Computer Engineering, Technology and Science.
