Ana Landa Magdalena

Ana Landa Magdalena is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Oncology at the School of Medicine, University of Navarra. She maintains dual affiliations with the Clínica Universidad de Navarra (CUN) and the Cancer Center Clínica Universidad de Navarra (CCUN), integrating clinical practice with academic research in oncology.

She earned her Doctorate from the University of the Basque Country in 2023. Her doctoral research, supervised by Dr. Pedro Miguel Vieira Rainho Simoes Rodrigues and Dr. Jesús María Bañales Asurmendi, investigated the role of transcription factor KLF5 in cholangiocarcinoma etiopathogenesis and chemoresistance, aiming to develop novel diagnostic, prognostic, and therapeutic strategies.

Her research spans molecular oncology with specific focus on biliary tract cancers, employing transcription factor analysis to identify therapeutic vulnerabilities in chemoresistant tumors. Current work centers on oncogene validation and effector target discovery through the PANCCUN research group.

Dr. Landa Magdalena actively contributes to the PANCCUN Oncogenes and Effector Targets research group, which focuses on identifying druggable molecular pathways in gastrointestinal cancers through translational research approaches.
